If you have the latest lilv from SVN as well, and then build Ardour 
using that, then it should work -- it works fine for me with GIG files. 
With SFZ files there's currently an issue on session restore (the 
relative paths used in most SFZ files to find their samples are broken), 
but for GIG files, and for SF2 files (or at least, the SF2 files that 
work in LinuxSampler, since its support is still somewhat limited, I 
believe) it all works as expected.
