depends:
 - ardour
 - ardour-i686

e.g.
 - aptitude install ardour-i686

the packages are in the "universe" section of the standard ubuntu
repositories, so these have to be activated in /etc/apt/sources.list to get
the packages installed. it should look something like this:

[...]
## N.B. software from this repository is ENTIRELY UNSUPPORTED by the Ubuntu
## team, and may not be under a free licence. Please satisfy yourself as to
## your rights to use the software. Also, please note that software in
## universe WILL NOT receive any review or updates from the Ubuntu security
## team.
deb http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy universe
deb-src http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy universe
deb http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy-updates universe
deb-src http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy-updates universe
[...]

here's an overview, which version is in which repo:

the still often recommended apt-get should be considered deprecated, because
since debian sarge, aptitude is the officially recommended package tool:
