[Ardour-Users] lost meters

greetings!

strange thing here with some sessions on 2.8 svn4990: i've lost channel metering (in both the editor and mixer windows). all channels are still playing through to the master outputs, and *those* meters are operating fine, i just don't se any meter activity in each channel strip.

most sessions are fine, so i think it's just some setting i've inadvertantly switched in these sessions -- i just can't figure out what would do that. anyone know off-hand what would cause the meters to become inactive in the channel strips?
