i'm not sure we're on the same page. ardour is going to let you scroll
to 27 hours no matter what you do. the purpose of the end marker is
two-fold (or three fold):

	1) define what the goto-end command does
	2) define where export stops
	3) if you have "stop transport at end marker" enabled, where
             to stop the transport

it has no effect, and will never have any effect on your ability to
scroll past it.
