Just for completeness, I thought I'd let folks here know that 
Mandriva has fixed the bug.  Thanks for pointing me in the right 
direction Paul....

Fixed in 0.2.21-2mdv.  Uploaded to cooker, 2007.1/updates, and 2007.0/updates.
