[ardour-users] Ardour on mac or linux

Hi there

My compliments about the new Ardour 2 beta! It looks brilliant and runs 
really nice on my Ubuntu machine. Currently I have a Terratec ews-88 
card which works great, but has only 8 inputs. And I really would like 
to go to at least 12 inputs. Iwan (also on this list) told me he uses a 
mac which has some advantages with using hardware like FireWire (because 
of the drivers). So, I'm thinking of getting a mac next to my PC. But 
can anyone tell what kind of mac I should get for this. I now have a AMD 
3100+ running which is pretty fast and I would like to record 12 (or 
maybe 16) tracks at ones. Any suggestions? Or maybe any suggestions for 
the audio hardware?
