Not going to argue that the Ardour software raid is not nice(Though I
personally haven't used it, the concept is nice at least;), however see my
posts for two specific instances where it is, a, EXTREMELY easy to set this
up, and B, VERY useful.  And at least one of those instances (Recording a
live gig with backing tracks) is far from uncommon.  Personally I do the
second version a fair amount.

Now in as far as moving audio between recorded takes, it would certainly be
nice if some software would do it for you, but it is a good way of
stretching a limited setup and keeping it reliable.
