[ardour-users] 32 v 64 bit

I'm planning to build a (half-) decent Linux DAW which among other 
things will be used for recording.

I've got a few years Linux networking and web development experience, 
but almost no Linux audio experience. To date, I have not installed a 64 
bit Linux operating system either.

My first question is: do I need to consider the 32 bit versus 64 bit 
operating system question when it comes to using CCRMA software and 
Ardour, and doing Linux audio in general? Any pros, cons, or it doesn't 
matter?
