I have a very simple ardour setup running on my home machine that I'm 
using for digitizing session tapes from my old Tascam 4-track.  I'm 
running it on a fairly unoptimized Gentoo setup (2.6.5-r1 kernel).  At 
some point in the next week or so I plan to upgrade the kernel to 2.6.14.

The machine I plan to build in the next few months will be specifically 
built for multitracking.  I have not settled on a distro yet, but I'd like 
to stay with Gentoo because that's what I'm most familiar with.
