[ardour-users] how to fix really ugly fonts?

I am running ardour on a Mandriva 2006.0 system, and the fonts are really 
(really) ugly. They are "blocky" to the point that some of the labels are 
almost unreadable, even though I'm using a 19" CRT.

How do I tell ardour to use something more readable?
