Sure, but compare the size of a big mixing desk to the size of your  
monitor, and add to that the lack of fine control when you use the mouse,  
in comparison to when you touch a real fader/knob.
I agree though. A horizontal slider widget like the panner widget but with  
the name of the send inside would be nice.
And the other slider controls to open up as context menu items sort of.
I wonder if you can do that in gtk2, have widgets inside a context menu.
