Best to keep this discussion on a user's list. If we talked about this
on XXXX-dev someone would tell us to fix it. ;-)
Still, I find that I react pretty stongly to what I read as the
sentiment in Paul's comment "Maybe, but we don't have much choice.
Ardour is not going to save settings for jackrack; jackrack is not
going to save settings for amsynth; etc etc." I don't want to say that
it's not going to get better - better defined as what user's want to
use vs. what developer's want to develop. It's not all that far apart
right now but imagine the application that could be created by pooling
the developer talent in the Ardour, Rosegarden and Muse teams, just to
name a few, and coupling that with a user vision of where to go. I
think it would be amazing. As it is "Ardour is not going to save ..."
