Oh my, i finally got hold of a pentium3 on which i could fully
reproduce the denormal problems... until now I applied float
denormalization merely out of good practice, but never faced the
problem myself. Finally managed to get a fix into tap-plugins CVS
five minutes ago, it sort of worked for me...

Sorry for being off-topic the whole day. I'm really going home now.
