[ardour-dev] Ardour CVS wouldn't save song

hi

i just compiled today's CVS snapshot - Scons build went fine, just
doing:

scons VST=1

took me a while to organise my VST directory to the point where Ardour
would start up, but i got there eventually (i didn't think i was going
to be able to get the VST enabled at all, until i saw Geoff's post "VST
Windows Issue" - as far as i can tell, he is right in saying that it is
necessary to use wine 20040505, as later ones don't seem to work).

i've had a few sessions since in ardour, the first couple going okay,
but the last one started complaining about halfway through the session
that it wasn't gonna be able to save it (i don't recall *trying* to save
it, but i coulda slipped). anyway, i kept going cos i was on a roll -
but it wouldn't let me save the updated session when it was time to
quit ... it told me to select the "just quit" option if i couldn't save
it. which i had to do ...

luckily, i was starting Ardour from the command line (had to export a
different VST_PATH than that which was in my .bash_profile), so i think
i may have caught a few clues as to what it might be ... but i'll leave
that prognosis up to the professionals :)
