[Ardour-Users] "Export to Audio File" takes forever and never finishes

Ardour  5.12 is EOL'ed at this point. We also cannot provide support for
builds provided by Linux distro builds.

I recommend that you check the free/demo version of Ardour 6.5 from
https://ardour.org/download and see if that works. If not, follow up on the
bug report please.
