[Ardour-Users] HDSPloader firmware for HDSP9652?

Hello all together,

I wonder what HDSPloader does. Does it load a firmware onto the card? Or is it to load the HDSP for use?
For my RME HDSP9652 I have to start HDSPmixer once so that I can hear something. Perhaps it's better to use hdsploader?
And when it makes sense to use it, what firmware should I use? Alsa-firmware provides two: For digiface and multiface.

Unfortunately there is no manpage for hdsploader.
