there does appear to have been an increase in this behaviour recently.
However, Robin and I performed independent audits of the code to find any
where that Ardour does an "unlink" (the POSIX system call to remove a
file), and could find zero instances of suspicious code. In fact, there are
only a couple of places where it exists.

Of course, all of this assumes you are using (at least) 3.5.357 because we
did discover (and fix) some complicated errors that could lead to file loss
in earlier versions.
