Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm using ardour3 (from the gentoo pro-audio
overlay).

$ ardour3 --version
bnd txt domain [gtk2_ardour3] to /usr/share/locale
Ardour3.0 (built using 14211 and GCC version 4.6.3)

Are there any alternative panners?
