[Ardour-Users] Fw: can't get midi to work

I started using the KXStudio repositories for Ubuntu about six months
ago and was absolutely blown away by it. There is a simple page of
instruction on how to get up and running that just about anybody can
follow including: which version of Ubuntu to install, how to add
repositories, and how to minimize latency. They now also support
ArchLinux and support Gnome, KDE and Unity.
After about 45 minutes of downloads and one or two reboots I had a
machine with the latest versions of all major media software; the
whole system running on JACK; midi, pulseaudio, and alsa working in
harmony; 5ms latency for recording and playback; the use of most
plugins (LV2, DSSI, LADSPA, Linux VST and even most Windows VST and
VSTi) and everything "just works". I highly recommend it to any
musician or video producer who wants to get into production with
Linux.
