Directly 4-track-cassette-recorder ping-pong was a PITA. I solved this
by mastering 4 tracks to DAT and recording it back to 2 tracks of the
4-track-cassette-recorder. When premagnetisation was correct, the
recorder maintained, e.g. by doing demagnetisation, there wasn't really
audible loss for good 4-track-cassette-recorders.
