actually, jamin can function as a 1024 "band" eq. it will use this mode 
when you draw an eq curve freehand. additionally, it has a few 
parametric bands on top. i don't like it at all for mastering, but it 
might be useful for what kim calls "acousmatic" work, which i understand 
to be about the isolation of certain frequency ranges from a wideband 
signal or other rather extreme transformations.

and there is of course freqtweak, which includes at least a 1024 bin eq, 
maybe more.
