it's not. there is no point in trying a3 unless you're very familiar 
with compiling software on osx (read: an elder archwizard), and the last 
i heard, compiling a3 on mac was still extremely painful...

i'm building a3 on linux regularly, and it's not too hard once you have 
everything in place, but my compiler adventures on osx for far simpler 
software than ardour are the stuff of nightmares...
