[Ardour-Users] JACK upgrade for Ubuntu LTS- HELP?

HELP!!

I have an Ubuntu-10.04.3 LTS box-
Dell Optiplex 745 tower
( Core2Duo )

  jackd --version output =
 jackd version 0.118.0 tmpdir /dev/shm protocol 24
 
I need to upgrade Jack for my Harrison Mixbus installation.
Would LOVE to not have need of a fresh install with newer repositories..

Is there a  simple way to get JACK working again without breaking my LTS install?
