Harrison have already proven that ardour can be used inside an embedded
system.

There's nothing to stop us from making a bolier plate for a DIY console.

It would be an interesting project that could be useful for the home
studio crowd.

IMO, designing, building and documenting an open source mixing desk and
promoting it on the ardour forum is more likely to succeed and have an
impact than a small startup making a mixing desk, establishing trading
partners, producing quantity of product, selling it and then sending
some money back to ardour.

Of course once the former has been established there will no doubt be
several of the latter who will try to make it happen.
