i would respectfully disagree. the experiment is in progress, its not
explicitly about donations, and the userbase is growing, rather than
being static.

nothing is established. i don't even have close to the stats from the
download site that i should have - for example, i've had calls from of
professors at business schools who wanted to track the comparison
between the price that people see and what they actually pay (until
recently, the price they saw was random). i don't have that data.
there's lot of other details that one would want to collect before one
could say the "the experiment has been done".
