absolutely not!

it will always use 32bit floats internally anyways, and artificially 
limiting the output bit width has no benefits whatsoever, unless you 
know that the next link in the audio chain will be the final one and be 
likely to get the dithering wrong...
if you do limit it, make sure to use triagular or noise-shaped dither.
