The easiest way that I've found to do this is to bounce a rough mix of
your tracks (containing whatever you need to play along with) onto a
single track, reverse it, then record your "backwards" track while
monitering that, and finally reversing the newly recorded track. The
tricky part is that you *must* adjust the start and end points of the
new tracks to be the same as the reversed mix before you reverse them,
if you want everything to line up right. If you only want to record a
short part, you should adjust the endpoints of the mix track to
approximately that region of time *before* reversing it. Have fun!
