as is clearly indicated in http://ardour.org/first_time_osx_native the
aggregate device stuff is ONLY relevant when using a *builtin* audio
interface on an *Intel* Mac.

you choose the device that JACK will use in either JackPilot (if you
use it to start JACK before Ardour) or in the Audio Setup tab of the
dialog that shows up when you start ardour.
