For me anyway. If you want to roll-your-own kernel & alsa-driver like me  then 
Arch will deliver and some. I'm so impressed with it so far. Have as much or 
a little as you want. 

Pacman, and it's gui Shaman, are a simply elegant and funtional package 
management system. Three weeks and I just love it. Straight forward and FAST. 

For me at least, the search is over.
