Takashi is aware of this issue. I questioned the change from hw:0 to
plughw as default at the time, but it was felt that it was important to
make cards `just work' on as many systems as possible. Pro/semi-pro audio
users are a small minority, and it isn't too much of an inconvenience
to state the hardware device name explicitly when starting jackd. In fact
it's a good idea to do this anyway IMO.
