Hi

I'm using Ardour 2.0.5 in a Debian Lenny/testing system. I have compiled
it from source and now I'm trying to import some FLAC files into it.

Googling for ardour +flac, I found out which packages I needed to
compile it with FLAC support. Also, I have downgraded my flac packages
because of the newer API incompatibility. After some fiddling around
with packages and scons, I finally got the

Checking for FLAC__stream_decoder_new() in C++ library FLAC? yes

message during compilation. I thought it was going to be enough, so I
proceeded with the installation of my newly compiled FLAC-supporting Ardour.

When browsing to the directory where the FLAC files reside, I got
nothing. So I selected to show all files and tried to import
nonetheless, just to receive some "failed to open" messages, or
something like that.

How can I check what's wrong/missing, so I can try to work my way out of
this limitation?

Currently, I'm converting all FLACs into WAVs before importing them into
Ardour, but this is very disc and time consuming.

I appreciate any help.

Cheers,
Cassiano Leal
