I was the one recommending it. And yes, I know that each modification of the 
(sometimes big) audio files create a totally new file in the backup. But:
ardour doesn't do any modification on the audio files after the recording!

My backups of a whole cd never exceed 50MB on the daily.x where x>0.

All the "modifications" are done in xml-files describing regions and 
audio-snippets out of the big files. And only the xml/etc files change.

So it is perfectly suitable for backup of ardour sessions.
