we are using scroll in the same way, except for one difference. 

there is some confusion in ardour over what the scrollbar is for. right
now, it *attempts* to always be there to represent the range between
zero and the end marker. clearly, it is not always succeeding, but thats
the goal.

there are ways to scroll beyond the range accessed by the scrollbar (the
arrow keys, for example, or dragging something past that point, or a
direct locate command.
