glitchy dropouts = xruns perhaps? I had that too when starting jack from
ardour and  it was because the settings it started jack with were causing
latency, just like qjackctl did before I spent hours tweaking it.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy with it.

I didn't see anything obvious in the roadmap, but is there any thought into
making the drawing tool for automation a bit more powerful? I get kind of
jealous watching my friend do all kinds of whacky stuff in pro-tools with
it. :) My 10 second feature request if anyone is listening is "Make
automation as cool as pro-tools". Specifically I couldn't figure out how to
delete individual nodes in the line. So basically all the operations that
you expect to do if you were in an svg editor like inkscape. If this is done
already or something similar, I apologize, I couldn't figure it out.

If I was a studdly C programmer I'd jump in and hack at it, unfortunately C#
is as low level as I feel comfortable going.
