[ardour-users] making connections from inside of ardour

hi to the list,
i am enjoying very much the developing of ardour2, but i am still not 
able to work with this seriously, because on my machine there still is a 
bug, that i am not able to make any connections from inside of ardor 
(input/output window on a mixer channel strip and also from the 
menu-track/bus inspector or connections)

here some more infos:

Ardour/GTK 2.0beta3
   (built using 1.0.2 with libardour 1.0.0 and GCC version 4.0.4 
20060507 (prerelease) (Debian 4.0.3-3))

in the channelstrip input/output window, as in the track/bus inspector 
too,  i am only able to remove/create inputs/outputs, but trying to 
connect, just nothing happens.
the connections window from menu-window does not even appears when i 
click on it.

in the moment i am usualy working with 0.99.2, there i have not this 
problems.
should i try to recompile the 99.2 with this machine setup, just to see 
if everything is working, but as i can remember, i allready did, and 
there still everything is working.

has anyone an idea what could cause these behavior, perhaps i should 
downgrade some of the dependencies.
