[ardour-users] Ardour-2 on multi-user systems

Hi everyone,

This is my first post, and thanks in advance for any assistance.

I am trying to install Ardour on a multi-user Mac OS X system, where  
the users all run off a network account. The copy of X11, Jack and  
Ardour that are running are local to every machine, but every user  
account is off the server. When I start Ardour, there is about 2  
minutes of "font-caching", then about another 2 minutes before the  
actual UI pops up. With repeated launching (even on the same machine)  
this occurs. If we log into the machine as a local user, everything  
starts up very quickly. Unfortunately, due to the lab structure, we  
aren't able to give everyone local accounts.

Is this just something that has to be dealt with? Or does anyone know  
why the startup would take so long over the network? If so, any  
suggestions on how to speed it up?
