    You're probably right.  I've been doing that for so long that being
cautious is second nature.  If you get careless you can screw things up.
I still say that running a few applications as root in a normal WM
session is probably not a problem.  It's real difficult to hose yourself
unless you start trying to save your audio files in /etc or /boot ;-)
