[ardour-users] PKG_CONFIG_PATH?

hallo people,
using demudi especially for ardour and jamin
ardour beta29
!
trying now to build ardour 0.99 from source
first i sattisfied all the dependencies /i think so
running 'scons -j2' i get a error message:
scons cannot find any of new libs, is looking for .pc files of them!
is it possibile for someone to give me the instruction how i do export the 
.pc file of by ex. sndfile.pc so that scons can find it?
please i do need a full-secure-idiot-step-by-step-explanation, cause not so 
good in things like linux-but i love it!

i think that could not be so difficult, but dont know how!
using demudi 1.2.1 on ibm-thinkpad r50e
