Hi,

You can determine that you have a broken laptop by setting ardour to
record some tracks and let it record silence for say about 5-10
minutes. If you here some small click with small deterministic time
values you probably have a broken SMM in your laptop.

On my ACER Ferrari. This one goes into SMM every 50th second and in
one 10th second after the 4th SMM.

That means 50,50,50,50,10 and so on.
