nothing special. acer 4002WLMi notebook, 1 Gb RAM, 60Gb 7200RPM HD,  
integrated Intel 855 video. gentoo with a 2.6.11-mm4 kernel.

yes, of course -- a matter of technical curiousity, really. it's just cool  
to see all that audio get laid down without a burp! but, i must say i DO  
find using lotsa channels to record the "loud cacophony" of my band "fun"!
