[ardour-users] Basics, first questions

I just signed on after a recommendation from someone online. I cannot 
tell if Ardour will work on Mac OS9 - the system requirements need geek 
translation to interpret!

I'm a professsional audio engineer, and use Protools extensively. I'm 
hoping Ardour will work as a dongle-free audio app for iBook work on 
the road. This with OSX.3.7 and G4 iBook. I have a 9500 running OS 9.1 
at home too.

Can anyone fill me in on the simplest basics, like what besides linux 
does it work with?
