Hehe! Simple: You're not running JACK (as Jack Audio Connection Kit);
You're running another application, which is called Jack but is a
frontend for cd-ripping.
Fell for that didn't you? :)
I don't use ubuntu or debian, but by googling for "jack ubuntu" there
are some entries in the first page.
