Damien,
You might want to stop and reconsider the possible outcomes of
making a change inld.so.conf by hand. Consider why the library ended
up in /usr/local vs. /usr. Consider what will happen if you use a
differenct, more standard ./configure --prefix=/usr later on.
As Jan pointed out, it might be best to make uninstall Jack right
now and recompile it with the proper (by your determination) options
instead of starting to propogate mistakes. I'm speaking from
experience here. Tough, hard experience.
