Everything was great at first, but lately we've been getting errors from
ardour like "pool out of memory, recompile with larger..." and crackling
that's getting worse as time progresses. Nothing has changed in the
system other than more space being used in the audio partition. I got
and compiled all the latest versions of all the dependent libraries and
programs that ardour uses, but the latest snapshot of ardour failed to
build. We still use an older version of ardour but upgrading everything
else didn't fix it.
Here's the system:
Maudio delta 1010
alsa-drivers 1.0.1
Athlon Tbird 1.3ghz (not overclocked)
Asus A7v /w 512mb SDRAM
ATA100 7200rpm HD
system partition mounted with EXT3
audio partition mounted with reiser
jack uses 260mb temp ramfs
Ardour/GTK: 0.432.1
libardour:0.716.1
I run jackd with:
jackd -R -d alsa -d hw:0 --hwmon --hwmeter -p 2048 -n 2 -r 48000
Is this most likely a system glitch or a software glitch?
What could be causing this? Should I re-compile jack to use a larger
ramfs? Any imput is greatly appreciated.
