[ardour-users] alsa can't find my es1371 card

That would be my guess.  Try this:  Install the
kernel-multimedia that is included on thac's RPMs. 
Boot into that kernel, see if you have any luck
getting alsa to work.

Another option is to manually modprobe the snd-ens1371
module of the alsa package that you installed. (not
the module that was included in the kernel) To do
that, you will have to give the full path.

i.e.:

modprobe /usr/lib/something or other/snd-ens1371.so

Or wherever you installed ALSA to.
