I've tried installing Ardour with both RPMs and source but every time I try
and RPM I get the error

Some package requested cannot be installed:
ardour-0.9beta11.2-1.rh73.ccrma.i386 (due to unsatisfied libraptor.so.1)
do you agree ?

Or some variation and every time I try to install 09beta18.1.1 frome source
I get

Some package requested cannot be installed:
ardour-0.9beta11.2-1.rh73.ccrma.i386 (due to unsatisfied libraptor.so.1)
do you agree ?

If I compile I get this at the end of compilation

checking for main in -lhoard... no
checking for main in -lefence... no
checking for gtk-config... no
checking for GTK - version >= 1.0.0... no
*** The gtk-config script installed by GTK could not be found
*** If GTK was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GTK_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to gtk-config.
configure: error: *** gtk-ardour requires GTK+, but it doesn't appear to be
installed
configure: error: /bin/sh './configure' failed for gtk_ardour

Then when I try to "make" I get the following

Making all in DOCUMENTATION
make[1]: Entering directory
`/home/james/LinuxAudio/Ardour/ardour-0.9beta18.1/DOCUMENTATION'
make[1]: Nothing to be done for `all'.
make[1]: Leaving directory
`/home/james/LinuxAudio/Ardour/ardour-0.9beta18.1/DOCUMENTATION'
Making all in libs

`/home/james/LinuxAudio/Ardour/ardour-0.9beta18.1/libs'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `all'. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory
`/home/james/LinuxAudio/Ardour/ardour-0.9beta18.1/libs'
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

I'm on a dual processor Intellistation running Mandrake 9.2 512 megs ram
nothing that special I think. I'm probably doing something, or not doing
something, basic. If you need any more information please ask I don't
really know what you all need to konw.

Thanks much
Jim
