[ardour-users] high quality time-stretch

Hi,
I saw on mantis that it has been reported - timefx does not work properly.
I think it should be also possible to adjust the parameters for time 
stretching by giving the values in bpm, frames etc.
Unless it is not like that, can anybody advise me other linux software 
that handles precisesly time stretching (by using bpm etc.) without 
changing the quality of sound  not so much?
