Very true
But it is important to think of the kind of editing you plan to do.
For tracking with the occasional punch-in any modern disk will do.
If you plan to do serious discontious editing, and maybe running a 
giga-sampler-clone as well you need very fast seek times.
Especially if you are recording stuff and playing back a lot of short 
fragments from very different locations on the hard-drive. 
Not sure how a raid setup works in this kind of context.
