[Ardour-Dev] git or svn?

my work schedule at the moment is too erratic to hang out on irc, so 
here goes:

the ardour-cvs (!) mailing list has been spewing out quite a few git 
commit message - until recently, they have been only about the website, 
but that seems to have changed. is git now the preferred method to 
access the ardour development code? if so, what is the URL for anonymous 
checkout?
