[Ardour-Dev] Audio/Midi Editor

Hi all !

First I want to thanks all the ardour's developers for their great work on
this software.
I used ardour a lot and I would now participate to this project. So I want
to discuss a new feature with you.

Currently, it's not possible to edit a region (Audio or Midi) with an
external editor (like Hydrogen or Rezound).
Do you think it's a good idea to make a generic protocol to bind theses
applications ? My goal is to extend Ardour with other great application
instead of reinvent the wheel in Ardour.

Or maybe do you have another interesting point of view ?
